About me and my therapy practice
For many people, coping on a day to day basis can be challenging especially when coupled with a mental health issue or some form of emotional distress. Everyday tasks seem insurmountable and the thought of trying to get through another day can seem almost impossible. Talking to a professional and experienced therapist who understands exactly how you are feeling and the struggles you are going through can be cathartic and help to alleviate emotional distress. It is also the first step towards the road to recovery.
Seeking help for your specific problem can of course feel quite frightening especially if it is your first time doing so. Therefore, one of the aims of my 'approach' is to ease you gently into the sessions and work with you at your own pace until you are comfortable enough to explore matters further. The approach itself can be described as 'Eclectic' and 'Integrative' because it encompasses concepts and tools from the Cognitive Behavioural, Existential, Neuro-Psychotherapy, Person- Centered and Psychodynamic models of counselling so as to provide you with a well-rounded and robust experience during therapy. I do not promise that commencing therapy will be easy because facing one's problems head on never is but it does gradually begin to get easier as time goes by.
I am able to see you in person and also offer flexible Skype video or telephone sessions for those who are restricted in terms of their time.
