About me and my therapy practice
It is not always easy to cope with life's problems or difficulties, especially when feeling overwhelmed and unsure. By reading this you have made an important step towards addressing those aspects of your life that are troubling you and bring about change.
I am a qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults on a one-to-one basis. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe place for you to address those aspects of your life that are troubling you and to bring about change.
My approach is psychoanalytic, however I am trained and experienced in finding ways that suit each individual including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mentalisation based therapy (MBT) and cognitive analytical therapy (CAT).
I aim to help you understand and resolve your difficulties by increasing awareness of your conscious thoughts and unconscious processes and their influence over relationships, both past and present. Getting to understand yourself better isn’t always an easy process, but it is a rewarding one.
Choosing the right counsellor or therapist can be difficult and I am very happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding counselling. My training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy means that I am able to see you between one and three times a week depending on your requirements. I also work as a therapist to student and trainee counsellors.
