About me and my therapy practice

My intentions, are to always create a safe space for you to be able to tell your story, free from judgment, in a place where you know that you are being heard and understood.

When you have an impartial person to talk to and think with you, this helps you to gain insight into yourself.

Counselling is a collaborative process, so we would work together, to address your own thought patterns and behaviours. Counselling helps to increase your self-awareness. Once you can think more easily about your situation, I will help you to find a way of moving forward which feels right for you.

Practice description

I work as an integrative therapist, which means I have been trained in different modalities of counselling. Within my practise I use different counselling approaches depending on what your needs are. Including Cognitive Behavioural therapy - CBT, Solution Focused and Psychodynamic Therapy.

I have been working with clients for over 10 years, helping clients who are experiencing a variety of mental health issues, challenges and difficulties in their lives.

Every person is unique; therefore, it is important to establish a way of working, which is tailored to and suitable for each individual client.

My first session

Our first session would be an assessment session. During this session I will encourage and support you in expressing your reason for coming to see me. I may also ask questions about your family, work, relationships, health and lifestyle. Which will help me to gain an insight into key aspects of your life.

It is important that we go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Therefore, if you are not comfortable to speak about certain areas of your life yet, then that is completely fine too.

About 10 to 15 minutes prior to ending we will discuss how you have found your first session. You will also have the opportunity to raise any questions you might have.

By the end of the session, we shall both have an understanding of what you would like to gain from counselling, as well as, what we will be working towards.
