About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, qualified counsellor working at Banbury Therapy Centre. Whatever brings you to counselling I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential place for you to be able to express and explore what is going on for you, however painful or difficult that may be. My aim would be to develop with you a trusting relationship, and to support you to develop new awareness and find a way forward.
I am a warm, attentive listener and have worked effectively with people experiencing a range of issues including: anxiety; depression; grief and loss; life-changes and transitions; trauma; abuse; stress; low self-esteem; identity issues; relationship issues; academic and work pressures; and existential and spiritual issues.
My main way of working is person-centred, and I use aspects of other therapeutic ways of working when helpful, including Transactional Analysis, CBT, Gestalt and psychodynamic approaches.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work according to BACP ethics.
My experience includes therapeutic counselling: within a therapy centre; for a bereavement service; for a university counselling service; and for Employee Assistance Programmes. Also I have worked for several years teaching counselling students.
