About me and my therapy practice
Realizing that you need help and taking the first step can be hard – you’ll find that I offer a welcoming, safe and non-judgmental space to explore, understand and grow at your own pace.
I'm passionate about helping people to achieve as much change as possible in the shortest reasonable time, whilst recognizing that for some, this might require a longer-term view - ultimately, it's all about helping you to achieve a more positive and fulfilling way of living that lasts! I offer confidential space to think and reflect, and use a number of tried and tested therapeutic techniques, including deep relaxation and guided imagery to help you to understand and transform your experiences and emotions with compassion and a different perspective.
I use an integrative, solutions focused approach which seeks to understand whether your emotional needs are being met in a healthy and balanced way, the patterns and past experiences that frame your world view and use your own innate and personal resources to achieve powerful and lasting change. Using a number of tried and tested therapeutic techniques, including deep relaxation and guided imagery I can help you explore your issues in a way that enables you to take a more objective and compassionate viewpoint, dealing quickly and effectively with trauma in order to release the lock between experiences and unhelpful emotions in a quick, safe and non-threatening way. Whatever your past experience or present situation, we can work together to find a more empowered, balanced and healthy future.
Please note that my practice remains open for sessions and I am continuing to take new clients during this time: Sessions can be arranged either online or over the telephone.
Based between the villages of Lubenham and Foxton in rural Leicestershire, sessions take place in a private and comfortable custom-built office accessed directly from an off-road parking area.
My first session
Prior to our first session we will have a short telephone conversation and I will send you some documentation for you to take a look at. This will include a client information form which will ask you for some basic details about yourself including your address, emergency contacts and Doctors name and surgery address ; a data protection agreement explaining what information I will keep, how I will keep it and what I will use it for; information about the sessions and how we will work together; and a questionnaire that will ask you some questions about how you feel about various areas of your life. You can either complete these and email them back, or print them and bring them to the first session with you.
We will use the first session to get to know each other a little and for you to decide whether I am someone you feel that you will be able to work with. We will also set goals for the sessions so that we have a clear idea of what you would like to be different when we have completed our work together. If after the first session you decide that you don't want to continue, that's absolutely fine - it's vitally important that you can feel comfortable and safe with whoever you decide to work with and only you will know when you've found the right person!
