About me and my therapy practice

We can all be stopped in our tracks by difficult life events and challenges that seem impossible to overcome. But there is always a way through these difficulties, and sometimes we need to walk alongside another through these times. It is possible that the most distressing times of our lives can be opportunities for intense growth. Our suffering can seem intolerable, but there are ways to diminish this suffering and find peace, and learn to flourish.

Whatever your goals for therapy, whether you want to regulate your emotions better, release yourself from debilitating anxiety or depression, or make better choices in your life, living to your best potential, Mary can help you to achieve better mental health and work towards a better balance in life.

Mary uses evidence-based approaches which have been shown to benefit clients with anxiety and depression. She has worked within an IAPT service delivering psychological therapy to individuals suffering from depression, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and health anxiety. She also spent 2 years working for a complex treatment service delivering psychological therapy to war veterans experiencing PTSD and complex PTSD.

Mary also worked with adolescents in CAMHS inpatient services, with individuals diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorder, severe anxiety and depression. Alongside her private practice she currently works for the NHS as an outpatient consultant and is a qualified and registered user of psychological testing with the BPS

Mary utilises many approaches such as EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, narrative therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

Mary provides either short-term solution-focused sessions tailored to your needs or longer-term therapy, depending on your requirements and aims for therapy.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist based in Northampton, Northamptonshire. I offer assessment, counselling and psychological therapy to individuals, parents and carers, and work with both children and adults. This work aims to support people to better understand and cope with difficulties they may be experiencing so to improve psychological well-being and quality of life.

I also work in a psychosensory way which can include some body work alongside the talking therapy. This can be explained in our first session so you can decide if it is an approach you feel you would benefit from. The body and mind are linked intrinsically and so sometimes working with both can be very effective.

I am also trained in mindfulness and this can be a very beneficial way to help many difficulties.

I provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk about any difficulties or issues which may be causing you concern or distress. This may include:

I also offer concessionary rates at my discretion.

Fees are set at £180 per 50 minute session for assessment and treatment. Frequency of session can be either weekly or fortnightly to accommodate need and assist with managing the cost of therapy. Work is goal-focused and therapy options will be discussed at initial assessment to think about what therapy best fits not only your goals, but also your budget.
