About me and my therapy practice

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the boundaries of their ethical framework. I am trained to Masters level as an Integrative Counsellor, and my work is underpinned by attachment theory, with a theoretical orientation of humanistic and existential therapy.

In supervision, I will aim to help you expand your understanding of your clients, and to support you in reflecting on your own feelings and reactions to your work. I believe that helping you become more aware of the demands of our employers, our own feelings, and the feelings and needs of our clients is likely to enhance and facilitate your work, whether that is as a therapist or in some other helping profession.

Practice description

I am currently training for a level 6 qualification in clinical supervision, and am therefore able to offer a limited number of therapists free supervision.

Since qualifying as a counsellor in 2011, my main areas of work have been in primary school counselling and wider community family support. I have also worked in IAPT (GP referrals) and private practice settings, so my supervision may suit therapists and practitioners working in those fields. Trainees on at least a Level 4 Diploma and in placement are also welcome.

As well as counselling, I have run projects in schools, and worked as community involvement worker for Surestart Children's Centres. School support and pastoral staff, and non-therapists working in the wider field of mental health and community work may also benefit from supervision with me.

My first session

We will start our first session by mutually agreeing a supervision contract, discussing what you are looking for in supervision and talking about your practice.

Please feel free to contact me via email to discuss details of how supervision will proceed and if you want to find out more before starting.
