About me and my therapy practice
I believe that everyone has the potential to feel better about themselves, their life and can learn to understand and improve how they relate to others and the world around them. Through my work I have experienced that I can help others to make progress towards becoming more content and self-accepting and improve their life and outlook.
I am qualified to Masters Level and continue to study and research to further my knowledge and way of being.
My training is in ‘integrative psychotherapy’ which means that I access a range of approaches depending on what the person I work with presents. You will be invited to share whatever is on your mind and we may explore the deeper causes of whatever it is that is causing the upset, sadness, anger, frustration or whatever you bring to the sessions. My training also encompasses ‘relational psychotherapy’ which helps when people share the challenges arising in relationships.
I aim to offer a safe and supportive environment with opportunities for self reflection as well as offering challenge and solution focused counselling when appropriate.
My first session
We will go through some basic assessment questions to gain some background details and establish how you are currently coping and functioning. I will share some further details about what to expect from the sessions and offer you the opportunity to share your own hopes and expectations as well as any further information prior to starting our first full session.
