About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first steps to talk about your problems can be the beginning of making changes and taking control of your life.
I aim to provide a warm, safe, supportive, non-judgemental space; a relationship for healing, finding meaning in life and developing new insight.
The counselling relationship is a journey. Like any journey sometimes it can feel scary and sometimes we can feel lost or unsure of where to go next. I will walk with you on this journey and support you in understanding how you make sense of yourself in your world. As a person-centred and psychodynamic counsellor I believe that you have the resources within yourself to make positive changes in your life.
I have three years of experience of working with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds experiencing many different issues. I have particular experience working with anxiety, trauma, self issues, bereavement, depression, social anxiety, body image, selective mutism.
Before training to become a counsellor I worked in Social Care for 12 years, sopporting people with mental health issues, learning disabilities and people on the autism spectrum. This work showed me the importance of helping someone to feel valued, appreciated and understood. It gave me many experiences of connecting with different people in different ways.
Choosing the right therapist is important. Call or email to arrange an initial session. We can talk about where your life is right now and what you want to get out of counselling. If it feels right for you we can decide how we will work together.
