About me and my therapy practice

Hello I am Dr Eileen Ward, I am an empathic counselling psychologist with more than 20 years experience in helping others achieve greater peace of mind regardless of the cause of your current situation.

Therapy with me will allow you the time to be with yourself, your thoughts and feelings. I will help and encourage you to work things out so that you can process events and emotions in the presence of someone who is on your side and who will not criticise or judge.

The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.

Practice description

Using an integrative approach, I draw on a range of therapeutic models to meet your needs and match your pace.

Working with a person centre approach, I regularly use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic and Systemic theories.

I have helped clients with a wide range of complex psychological needs within the NHS and private practice. I offer both short and long term therapy to individuals and couples.

My earlier career in business coaching is useful when supporting others dealing with work-related stresses and personal development.

Research indicates that the therapeutic relationship is an important element of therapy, therefore your choice of therapist is a significant part of the process.
