About me and my therapy practice
I offer a sensitive, empathic, non-judgemental and boundaried space in which difficulties can be identified and explored. The counselling process is collaborative, and while it can be painful and challenging, it can also bring relief and connection as the meaning of symptoms and experiences are understood and suffering is worked through. I believe that through the therapeutic relationship, profound and lasting change is possible.
I work creatively and place the relationship at the heart of the process. Work may include looking at past experiences; exploring relationships- including, importantly, the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship; free-association, and the exploration of dreams and fantasies. For some individuals creativity such as writing or imagery is important to recovery, and this may be integrated into our work together.
I practice psychodynamic counselling in private consulting rooms in Lewes, East Sussex, and at Haywards Heath Counselling Centre, offering counselling to adults and to young people aged 16 and above. My approach is LGBTQ+ affirmative. I have worked extensively with people diagnosed with high functioning autistic spectrum conditions.
