About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Michelle, and I am a qualified Counsellor and Registered member of the BACP. During my studies I have studied a variety of therapeutic approaches, including, Person-Centred, CBT and Solution focused, and I believe this allows me to be more flexible in how we approach our work together, tailoring it to suit your needs in a more integrative approach.
This means I will use different elements of specific therapies to meet your individual needs and work in a way we feel will meet your goals from our session together. Developing new coping strategies and alternative ways of thinking and approaching situations, helping you find your own answers.
My aim is to support you and help you to live your most fulfilling life by encouraging you to recognise your own strength and to support your emotional wellbeing. Together we will work, to help you to explore your thoughts and feelings and gain those new perspectives about yourself and your situation and to give you the space to grow and make the changes you desire to reach your goals. Enabling you to feel heard, accepted and understood, in a safe space being non-judgemental.
I have experience in working with clients with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, work related stress, grief, addictions, and extensive experience in working with Trauma and inner child work.
Counselling sessions: 50 minutes and cost £40 or a reduced rate of £25 for students.

-Outdoors with a Walk and Talk therapy service in my local area
My first session
Our first session is a free 30 minutes and this is to explore and see how comfortable you feel talking to me and for us to explore your reasons for coming to counselling.
At the end of this session, you have the opportunity If it feels right for you, to book your full 50 minutes paid session where we will identify some goals or a direction that you would like to be going in and this can help focus our work together.
Please note: you are under no obligation to have any further sessions, it is important you find the right counsellor that you feel you can trust and feel you can work with.
