Practice description

I can be flexible to accommodate clients who have busy lives, varying commitments (I specialise in working with students, other therapists and health care providers and working around their shifts), or live abroad.

I am a Member of the BACP,  and adhere to their code of professional ethics.

Offering face to face counselling, virtual and telephone.  Blending these options, where appropriate; acknowledging individual's needs to accessibility due to an ever-changing environment.

I also offer  'walk and talk' services, for those clients, seeking an alternative arrangement.

The versatility on offer, is due to the recognition and respect of difference and of a diverse community - catering to individual needs and mindful of neurodiversity.

My first session

The first session,  offers an introductory space to explore the therapeutic relationship and to discuss expectations of counselling and any other questions or queries one may bring to the discussion. Conclusively, providing a meeting, to establish whether we can work together.

On ending the first session, you will have clarity of the overall counselling process, including, the duration of therapy, interventions and the contractual elements of our work.

This assessment session is offered at the reduced rate of £45:00 payable in advance and will be a 1-hour session.  During the assessment, the purpose of 'what brings you to therapy, and why now?'  will be explored.

The initial charge for couples is at a reduced rate of £65:00.

Future sessions are priced at:

- Individuals £55:00 -£70:00 per 50-minute session, with some concessions available, offered on a sliding scale, based on individual circumstances.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome to my supervision profile.

I offer one to one and group supervision and reflective practice for therapists and those working in supporting professions.

I am a BACP Member Psychodynamic therapist, integrative trained to fully accommodate differences and preference of training.  Delivering clinical supervision and reflective practice in a range of settings, including religious, counselling and NHS services.

Practice description

Individual & Group Supervision

My supervision work and facilitation of reflective practice are informed by my experience as a therapist, educator, trainer and NHS Team Leader with over 12 years experience.

My style of supervision is collaborative. I provide a space for you, whether you are a counsellor, psychotherapist or an allied professional to bring your client load, and collaborate with me about that work in a safe, confidential, supportive and non judgmental setting.

I aim to provide a compassionate, supportive environment which values curiosity and kindness. My intention is to provide a space where you can feel free to explore your work in a non-judgemental way.

Predominately, psychodynamic, I adopt an integrated approach. I follow the Hawkins and Shohet 7 eyed process model of supervision. I hold in mind the three functions of supervision as outlined by Proctor. Namely; the formative, (educational) normative (ethical issues, the 'norms' of the profession and possible legal issues) and most importantly restorative (the effect of the work on the supervisee, personal issues, workload, time management and stress).

Supervision is available to both individuals and groups and contracts can be arranged on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, depending on your caseload.

I am respectful of diversity and the promotion of increased awareness of the effects of the impact and trauma caused by structural inequalities, experienced by those entering into a helping profession, and those seeking help to work through associated issues.

My first session

At our first session, it is important to get a sense of whether (or not) I am the right Supervisor for you.

It is very important that you feel comfortable with me in terms of potential support and/or challenge. Personally, I like to get a clear idea of your psychotherapeutic counselling training and clinical experience.
