Due to the global pandemic and social distancing restricitons I am offering remote working for those that feel more comfortable as oppossed to face to face. I offer Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp and telephone. This provides a degree of flexibility to both you and I.
About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life feels overwhelming and difficult. We find ourselves feeling isolated, anxious, and misunderstood. My aim is to provide a safe space for you to explore those difficulties, where you won't be judged or ridiculed. Living through a global pandemic as we have done, has been immensely challenging for many of us, living with uncertainty and a destabilising lack or normality. For some it has been a time of reflection, raising questions about life choices and the potential for change. For others it has been less positive, stirring up feelings of anger, fear, anxiety, grief, and loss, all of which negatively impact mental health and wellbeing.
Talking therapy can help us understand why we feel the way we do and why we repeat certain behaviours that don't serve us. I work collaboratively with clients and together we look at experiences that may have left you feeling there is little hope and no choice. This way of working can help create value and meaning enabling change where change seems impossible. You will understand yourself better and be able to communicate more effectively with those around you.
Traumatic events can have lasting effects that may result in addictive behaviours such as alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, and food. To survive we often use these behaviours to numb our pain. Together we can start to explore healthier more enriched ways of living.
It is my aim to make you feel at ease by providing a nurturing and supportive environment. This allows a connection to emerge and a rapport to develop where ultimately you feel safe to explore all those difficult thoughts and feelings.
I offer remote working for clients unable to travel, I also offer walk talk therapy, suited to those clients who are concerned about working face to face inside.
I offer a free assessment where we can decide if we would like to work together. You may feel I am not the right therapist for you and that's ok, I will help refer you to an alternative therpist.
Counselling gives you the time and the space to really look at yourself, to explore in a safe professional environment your thoughts and feelings. It can be described as the ultimate form of self-care and don't we all deserve that
My first session
It is my aim to make you feel at ease in our first session so we can establish a connection and develop a rapport between us. Coming into counselling takes courage; it can feel extremely daunting baring your vulnerabilities. I remember that feeling all too well and I know how hard it is taking that first step, but together with trust and in time, we can take a leap of faith into a whole new way of being.
My session run for 50 minutes on a weekly basis.
