About me and my therapy practice

I work online with clients globally as well as running my own private practice in Limavady.

I use a combination of techniques such as CBT, Transactional Analysis, Solution-focused therapy as well as Hypnotherapy and Parts Therapy.

I believe that change can happen even in the first session and that a client doesn't need to be in long-term therapy to achieve their therapeutic goals. Together we set tasks between sessions so we are actively working towards change even outside the sessions.

Every client has different needs and experiences and therefore my approach allows for flexibility and creativity in achieving the therapeutic outcomes. I work both long and short term

Practice description

I work online and have clients around the world. Modern technology has allowed us to make access to therapy easier and keeps us all connected. I work with many individuals who live in big cities and find online sessions is perfect for them as it is convenient and time-effective. 

I also work with clients living and working away from home who often lack support systems so this has been a fantastic tool to access therapy when therapists are not available in the area or when there may be language barriers.

Finally, I work in person with clients from an amazing centre in Limavady. I am so blessed to be part of this haven and the atmosphere from you enter the door is peaceful and calm. 

My first session

In our first session, we will go through the therapy agreement and I will take some notes about you and your history in the initial consultation form.

The first session will be very informal and is an opportunity to meet and see if we feel like a good fit to work with. I always say therapists are like shoes, you got to find one that fits. 

I always ask my clients in the first session what their best hopes for therapy would be. This allows us to set the tone for the sessions and also helps to paint a picture of what you want to get out of our time together. Some people have a clear idea of this and others it can take a few sessions so this is a very gentle prod towards Solution Focused Therapy. I use these best hopes as a guide and they are referred to and adjusted as and when necessary

All the sessions last 50 minutes unless we are using hypnotherapy then it will be 80 minutes.
