About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and registered integrative psychotherapist and offer short term counselling, long term psychotherapy and a divorce/separation support group in Isleworth South West London.
My aim is it to help people to address their troubles from different angles. First in a more practical way, so that problems could be addressed NOW in a more helpful way. The second layer is to investigate and resolve the deeper reason for this particular issue. So that the new constructive and resolution orientated approach can be sustained and anchored.
I have considerable experience working with clients who seek help for a variety of emotional difficulties including anxiety, depression, panic disorders, family and relational issues, abuse, trauma, loss, low self-esteem and self- worth. I am experienced in both short term counselling and long term therapy, crisis intervention and divorce support groups.
Practice description
How Therapy Works
As a therapist I provide a safe, warm and non-judgemental space where you can explore and reflect about your thoughts, behaviour and your emotions outside your usual circles of family or friends with a trained professional whom you can trust to keep things completely confidential.
Talking about your issues and difficulties and working them through helps you to develop a new perspective and enables you to identify unconscious negative patterns that have stalled your development and growth. Gaining insight and more understanding can enable you to move forward with increased resources to meet life’s challenges and also to implement positive, long lasting changes in your life.
My Approach
As we are all unique, my approach to therapy is an integrative one, which means that I draw on a range of knowledge and skills from different established theoretical backgrounds like Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Person Centred Therapy, DBT and Mindfulness. Most important however is that I work in an empowering way that is most suited to every client and that I offer a warm, open, non-judgmental and supportive space where you can be yourself.Therapy is not ‘giving advice’ but is a collaborative process which aims to help you to increase an understanding of your difficulties, to promote growth and to help you to make necessary changes so that you can move forward and build a more satisfying and happier life.
My first session
The First Session
It's important you feel comfortable with your therapist, the only way to know this is to meet them. I offer an initial session for a reduced fee. This is a chance for us to meet and have an informal chat about what has brought you to therapy, and what your goals and expectations are, and for you to ask any questions you may have. This initial session is a chance for you to decide how you feel about us working together, with of course absolutely no obligation to do so.
