About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging and changes in life are often distressing. Sometimes clients are not sure what is "wrong" but benefit from a space to explore their difficulties and understand them and this often leads to positive long term change.
I work integratively, responding to the needs of each client as an individual. I am experienced in working with individuals across a wide range of areas, incl depression, anxiety & stress.
I also provide solution focussed short-term counselling, using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques. Clients are often given "homework" between sessions to support them through change. This is similar to coaching program, which consists of six sessions, learning about stress, how to reduce it, introduce coping strategies and learning how to become more effective and resilient in facing challenges.
I am particularly interested and specialise in Stress and Anxiety and Trauma and hold contracts to provide wellbeing assessments to organisations where it is recognised their employees may be vulnerable to secondary or vicarious trauma due to the nature of their role and regularly work with individuals suffering anxiety disorders following road traffic accidents.
