About me and my therapy practice

Hello and thank you for reading my profile. Making a decision to come into therapy may be something you have been thinking of for a while or it may be because an event or incident has happened for which you need some support with.  Sometimes couples or individuals consider counselling because they feel stuck. They may have tried many other options before making contact with a therapist. Clients often say it is helpful talking to someone they don't know, who does not take sides or judge them and can maybe see the situation slightly differently.

Practice description

I started my career with Relate nearly 25 years ago. I am fully qualified to work with couples, individuals, families and young people.  I am bound by the BACP ethics and guidelines and receive regular supervision which "quality controls" my work.

I am fully insured and I have an Enhanced DBS certificate.

My approach is eclectic and I always use the best  and most helpful theoretical approach for the client. This is a decision which we make together. I feel very privileged that people choose to talk and engage with me in the counselling room.  I ensure what I provide  a safe, confidential and non judgemental space.

My first session

The relationship between clients and myself is very important for the counselling work to be effective. I therefore offer 30 minutes free consultation for me to understand what has brought you to counselling and for you to get to know me. We can then decide how and if you want to proceed further.

Sessions are from £40. I offer sessions through zoom, over the telephone or face to face. I have the use of a counselling room in Blackpool.

Please feel free to email or phone me if you have any questions or would like to know more.
