About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Registered Psychotherapist offering psychological and emotional support to adults, teenagers and children. Knowing how to live and cope with challenging thoughts, emotions and behaviours is a life skill and it is something I can support you to do so that you can thrive and feel happy with your life.

My training encompasses a humanistic, behavioural and creative approach that is adjusted to suit your specific needs. There is an option to self-express through creative art and breathwork to control and regulate your breath from anxiety/panic into relaxation.

My calm, rational, warm approach to the problems faced by every generation provides you with a solid foundation to support positive change. You can explore and develop a deeper insight and self-knowledge whilst feeling safe and supported to become the ‘happier you’.

Whether you have anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger, relationship issues, bereavement or something else, I have the expertise to support you to change confusion into clarity and to move forward into a brighter future.

Tics Talk supports neurodiversity and my specialism is Tourette’s Syndrome and Tic Disorders. I am trained in CBiT (Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics) therapy incorporating HRT Habit Reversal Therapy and ERP Exposure Response Prevention. I also support clients with OCD, Trichotillomania and Dermatillomania.

Practice description

I am an integrative therapist who is trained and experienced in several therapeutic approaches and I consider your individual circumstances and needs. You are the focus of therapy and I will use elements from the different approaches to support those needs.

My therapeutic approaches are: Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBiT), CBT Habit Reversal (HRT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Breathwork. There is the option to work creatively, to express self non-verbally and to learn breathwork techniques to ground and calm you when you feel anxious or triggered.

I will support you to understand who you are by developing a deeper insight through safe exploration, to recognise emerging patterns of thought, behaviour and felt emotion. You will develop a greater self-awareness, a positive relationship with yourself and your world and a sense of clarity, confidence and happiness.

I will join you in therapy with acceptance and without judgement. I will strive to keep you safe on your journey, supporting you to build a strong core of self-acceptance, identity and authenticity.

Children & Adolescent Counselling - “A safe place to talk”

I have worked privately in my practice and in a school setting with children and adolescents for many years. I approach this work with a natural empathy, warmth and understanding to nurture a connectedness that flows within my therapeutic work between myself and the child/adolescent.

Each child and adolescent is given choice to work in a way that they feel safe and comfortable, whether that is through talking therapy, creative art, play or breathwork. The trust that develops through our therapeutic relationship enables me to have a depth of connection, empathy and sensitivity. By experiencing the child’s world with acceptance and without judgement, I offer a sense of safety and grounding to explore their thoughts, behaviours and emotions.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Behavioural Therapist and Breathwork Coach.  I work with adults, young people and children  psychologically, behaviourally and emotionally with empathy and compassion.  My specialism is Tourette's Syndrome, tics, trichotillomania and dermatillomania using CBiT therapy and Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

My integrative therapeutic approach changes to meet your needs.  If you are experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, loss/bereavement, anger, relationship issues,  tics and trichotillomania or anything else, I have the knowledge and experience to help you, changing confusion into clarity to find the happier you.

Breathwork, which is optional, is a powerful tool to take control and move from fear to safety.

My practice is in person and online and I am based in Central Bedfordshire.

Practice description

I currently work online nationally and in Europe offering my wealth of my experience and expertise.   I also have a private practice offering in-person therapy.

I am a qualified Person Centred, CBT, REBT, Breathwork and CBiT Tic Therapist. I volunteered for the national addiction service and in a school setting with children and adolescents through art, creative  self expression and talking therapy.  I work for various organisations including Victims of Homicide Support and Walking with the Wounded supporting military veterans.  My private practice encompasses working with all age groups in person.

I offer an integrative approach specific to each individual client or a behavioural CBT approach to target specific issues eg phobia, trichotillomania.  Working with creative expression artistically and with breathwork are additional skills that are powerful interventions and are optional.

I aim to support each client with empathy, compassion and acceptance by joining them in their world and supporting  understanding and change leading to self-acceptance and a sense of happiness.

I trained with Tourette's Action/GOSH in CBiT (Comprehensive Intervention for Tics) and I work with neurodiverse clients with Tourette's Syndrome, tics and co-morbid conditions including ADHD and OCD.  I have experience of working with clients who have trichotillomania and dermatillomania.

I am registered with the ICO for GDPR, safeguarding trained, insured and I have an enhanced DBS.
