About me and my therapy practice
Hi my name is Claire and I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor.
I’m warm, non-judgemental and compassionate and my clients tell me that I am really easy to talk to. Being non-judgemental and truly and empathically interested in other people is such a really important part of the Counselling relationship.
I can help you to explore your life-experiences to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and others and to develop inner strength and skills. I will help you to find confidence in your ability to make choices and help you to develop emotional intelligence and learn to manage your emotions and reactions to difficult situations/people.
Counselling isn’t about me telling you what to do or how to do it. Counselling is about having a safe, respectful environment where you can share your problems, explore ways of dealing with them and develop new skills to do this.
Counselling improves your mental and emotional wellbeing and can have a positive effect on your physical health too.
I have currently work privately but have worked for Charities and for the NHS in the past. I have also worked using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Therefore, I have a wealth of knowledge and a ‘tool box’ of different skills to offer clients.
I have worked with many people with a wide range of difficulties. However, my main expertise is in anxiety and depression.
Please note that I am not trained to work with couples or children and therefore I only offer sessions to adults.
