About me and my therapy practice
**CURRENTLY FULL, INQUIRIES NOW FOR WAITING LIST**
My belief is that every individual has the potential to change, if they so desire it.
I am an integrative counsellor, having trained in person-centred, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. As well as employing CBT strategies for short term work.
I work one-to-one and in group facilitation. My promise to my clients is that; in our work together, you will be taken on your own uniqueness, not by label, diagnoses or beliefs.
I firmly believe, that there are very few areas that cannot be helped through therapy. But should we encounter that situation, a collaborative referral will be made with your best interest at the heart of the process.
I work with clients on their anxiety, low mood and depression, stress, anger management, and changing unwanted feelings and behaviours. I have a solid background of working in addictive behaviours, LGBTQ+ communities and in educational and employment settings.
I am a qualified teacher of 9 years and now counsel staff and students in their schools/colleges, as well as being the Head of Faculty in a London College; delivering CPCAB courses in Counselling.
I have extensive experience working with clients experiencing weight loss and weight management problems. I work with clients whose symptoms manifest into over-eating, and self-soothing with food - although underlying issues typically reveal themselves to be anxiety, depression, past trauma, low self-esteem and stress. I also work with clients experiencing substance abuse issues, including gambling.
I offer a telephone consultation to assess your therapy needs and how you wish to proceed. This is followed by an assessment and contracting session and a no obligation continuation of sessions for however long you wish.
I look forward to working with you and bringing you back to yourself.
Given the changing world and very unique situation we have been presented with, I have modified my way of working to be an online practitioner for the foreseeable future.
My current clients and I, carried over from face-to-face work, seamlessly transitioned to a digital way of working and have found the benefits and relationship to mirror that of being physically present in the room with one another.
I strive to develop this working relationship with all of my clients, and this new digital way of working allows clients to access therapy from their home/safe-space, in comfort and convenience, with the same therapeutic benefit as an office environment.
I use several online platforms at your convenience, including; Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp and conventional telephone sessions.
It is my intention to combine the use of online provisions with face-to-face sessions once more, once government guidance permits.
My first session
First sessions can take the form of either a telephone, zoom or skype call where we can take the opportunity to get to know one another, develop an understanding of what you would like to work on and how you would like to do this.
I like to take this opportunity for you to be able to ask me any and as many questions as you'd like, and get to know me as a practitioner and a person.
We can then move from there with how you'd like to work.
First sessions are still chargeable at the normal rate.
