About me and my therapy practice

Hi I'm Carole, counsellor and hypnotherapist.

For years I worked in the foster system, supporting families in crisis but I wanted more. I dreamed of being able to help these families on a deeper level so they were able to break free from the cycles they were caught up in.

I have always been a people person, with friends and family often telling me their problems and I was always being told that I should be a counsellor. It seemed the perfect solution, so I began my training and that was over 20 years ago.

As part of my training, I went to work for Cruse Bereavement Care and this began my specialism in this area. I have experienced traumatic loss myself and even saw a therapist to help me overcome it, but I found I couldn't connect with the therapist and was unable to open up. This has really influenced how I work with my clients because I understand how hard it is to be honest about how your feeling with a stranger.

The hypnotherapy training came later, and I love how quickly it can get to the heart of a problem without having to dig through the past and rake over old feelings. Of course I recognise that sometimes this is necessary but certainly not a requirement to healing.

I love that I can offer a unique combination of therapies and my experience to my clients, meaning that they get exactly the help they need. I have discovered that the combination of counselling with hypnotherapy is effective when working on issues of anxiety, depression, motivation, stress and addictions.

When I am not working you will find me outside in nature. Walking, bird watching, in fact anything that gets me outside is a big yes from me.

If you would like to know more about working with me or have questions about whether I can help you please get in touch.
