About me and my therapy practice

Investing in yourself can sometimes feel hard to do; you can always convince yourself that other things or people are more worthy of that investment but the truth is, making this investment in counselling will be the greatest gift you can give yourself and will change your life. I am Paul and I am a qualified counsellor who works from a Person Centred Approach. This means I believe you have all the answers yourself and by listening empathetically, without judgement, I support you to find your own answers. I provide a supportive and confidential space where you can share your thoughts and inner-most feelings and work through what may be painful or confusing for you.

I am an approachable, warm, perceptive and dynamic counsellor and having worked for a number of years for the NHS and privately, I can work with clients from all ages and backgrounds. Counselling can be accessed for a wide range of reasons; something really specific might have happened to you such as a bereavement or there may be issues in work or at home that you want to talk through.

You may be feeling depressed about things that have happened in your past, or anxious about the future, or there may be other feelings and behaviours that are having a negative impact on your life and holding you back. This could be things like; feeling unheard, feeling trapped, having to be “strong” all the time for everyone else, feeling insecure or just disappointed generally with life; together we can explore these feelings, understand where they might stem from, and work together to help move you forward.

Counselling brings awareness to how you feel deep inside and how things that have happened in your past have affected your life and who you are today. By exploring our past, we can find answers to today’s problems and can help release some of the weight and burden of things you may have been carrying, sometimes without even realising.

Practice description

This is your journey but counselling can help you navigate it – you will be offered a safe and confidential space to say anything you want to out loud without feeling judged or without fear of upsetting anyone.

You are at the heart of your sessions; we can discuss anything that you feel is important to you and we will only ever work at your pace and discuss things you feel able to.

My first session

I offer a free no-obligation consultation call which is a chance for you to outline why you're accessing counselling and I can explain my approach and how I can help. I can also any questions or concerns that you may have. We will then book you in for your 1st session on a day and time that is suitable. In the 1st session, we will agree a contract on how we will best work together to get you to where you would like to be.

I offer face-to-face sessions from my home in L16 or online depending on your preference. Each session is 1 hour long and is charged at £60.
