About me and my therapy practice

If you explore and integrate in the present what happened to you in the past, you will be more in control of your life. You are less at risk of repeating destructive patterns and less burdened by what you carry unnecessarily. You become more pro-active and more in charge of your own life. This is what my own experience of psychotherapy and counselling has demonstrated to me.

Friends and family are not always available to talk to, and you probably don’t want to burden them with dark thoughts and feelings that may have devastating effects on them, and will destabilise your relationship with them.

Psychotherapy and counselling can help you make sense of your past and present story, accompanied by a professional trained to listen to you without judging, and to go with you on this journey.

About me and my therapy practice

I supervise other counsellors and psychotherapists. I consider that supervision should be a working alliance that is formative, informative and supportive. The dialogue with supervisees is a way for colleagues to relate to each other and a place where I can share my own experience.

My integrative background allows me to examine:

● the relationship between the therapist or counsellor and their clients

● the developmental needs of the clients

● use of metaphors that characterise particular clients

● exploration of impasses when they occur

● respect for boundaries

These elements provide the necessary holding and support that supervision should ideally give. I respect the different approaches within a framework of boundaries and ethics.

I practise in accordance with the UK Council for Psychotherapy's Code of Ethics and Practice, ensuring that I work in a safe and trustworthy way. My work with supervisees is itself supervised under the same Code of Ethics.
