About me and my therapy practice
Coronavirus Update: I have moved my practice online while this situation unfolds, with sessions now via webcam instead of in person.
Are you feeling sad, anxious or lost? Sometimes life’s challenges can seem overwhelming, making it hard to know which way to turn. I believe counselling can help you find a path to a brighter future.
What I offer
At the heart of what I offer is a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk about whatever has brought you to counselling.
I draw from a range of what are known as Humanistic approaches. These include Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. Whether you’re most comfortable thinking through problems, or checking in with your feelings and emotions, or prefer to focus on actions and behaviour, we would find a way to work together that’s the right fit for you.
Like many people I see, you may want or need different things at different times. Another reason being adaptable with my approach is so important.
Who do I work with?
I have worked with men and women, ranging in age from late teens to late 70s. I have experience working with anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, loss or bereavement, loneliness, men’s issues, drug or alcohol problems and many of life’s other challenges. I have worked with people from many different backgrounds and cultures and have a particular interest in issues that can come from moving between cultures.
You can call or email me to arrange a low-cost introductory session, to see how we might get along, or you can learn more about how I work by visiting my website: www.downsviewcounselling.co.uk
