About me and my therapy practice
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist .I have BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy level 6-FDA in Counselling & Psychotherapy level 5 (person-centered). I work two days a week at UKAT Addictions clinic has one to one and Group therapist.
As a person-centered therapist, I provide an environment that is free from judgement and assumption and instead a place that is safe, confidential and empathic. It is my belief that offering this environment will help you explore any issues you are facing and together, we can work through those issues and establish a sense of empowerment and positive mental well-being.
I have over 13 years experience working in addiction at all levels from a therapeutic assistant to group facilitator and personal one to one therapist.
The therapy practice is based in a quiet location with private parking. The residential property is located just off the (A435) high street in Kings Heath and is easy to access. Free parking is available on site.
My first session
The initial 20-minute online or telephone consultation is free. This is an opportunity to explore what your expectations of counselling are, ask any questions and perhaps most importantly see if I'm the right therapist for you. Thereafter appointments last for fifty minutes.
It's best to allow 2-4 sessions initially to see whether it feels like a good fit for you. In the initial session, it is usual practice to discuss confidentiality guidelines and how sensitive information is kept so that you can be assured of my strict adherence to this. It is usual practice for you to sign and give your consent when you are ready to do so. It is helpful for me to collect some basic information about you and I will allow plenty of time for you to talk about what has brought you along and to discuss your hopes for therapy.
Subsequent counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length and the fee is £45.00. A concessionary rate is available.
