About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work within two counselling agencies with a mixture of clients from secondary schools to retirement age and beyond! I work within the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for Counsellors’, and also the BACP Guidelines for Online Counselling and Psychotherapy
I am a qualified an online counsellor and I have been a trained Samaritan for many years working regularly face to face, emails, SMS and over the phone.
I believe that people are basically good, and have an innate need to make themselves and the world better. This is a humanistic approach to life and this is how I am and work as a counsellor. The humanistic approach emphasizes the personal worth of the individual, and the creative, active nature of human beings and how individuals perceive and interpret events.
The approach is optimistic and focuses on noble human capacity to overcome hardship, pain and despair.
