About me and my therapy practice
Hi I am glad you are reading this, it is the first step in feeling happier, stronger and more confident. Are you feeling low or depressed, experiencing anxiety, stress, or grieving for the loss of a loved one, marriage, job or relationship? You can feel lost, scared or confused. Poor physical health/illness can cause fear and depression. Exam stress and bullying in work or in education can be devastating and you may feel overwhelmed. If this sounds familiar, then I may be able to support you explore these issues.
Why me? I am an integrative therapist, with person-centred therapy as my core. I work alongside you to explore your thoughts and feelings, and won't tell you what to do, or judge you. I am here to listen, and help you work through distressing emotions. Counselling can give you clarity, gaining the confidence you need to move forward. It’s not easy, but working in a safe and confidential environment will help you work through these painful experiences.
I have a achieved a Trauma Treatment certificate, with EMDR, CBT and Somatic-Based Interventions. I use elements of those therapies to support clients work through traumatic experiences.
I work within the BACP ethical framework, providing a safe, confidential and trusting space in which to explore challenging emotions. I work to ensure you feel safe in the counselling room, building trust to help you discuss painful emotions.
It’s never easy to explore things that hurt, confuse or scare us. In the first session, we will discuss how we will work together. Ask as many questions as you need to help you decide. I have comfortable rooms in Rodney street, Liverpool.
If you want to know more, please contact me. I will reply to you voicemail or email within 24 hours. I am happy to answer any questions. Alternatively, you can request an appointment for an initial consultation.
My current practice offers face to face sessions in Rodney Street, a property held as part of the Harley Street, London, group. If preferable, I also offer sessions online. I do not work with couples at present.
In Rodney Street, there is a welcoming reception, along with a comfortable waiting area if you are early. My office is on the first or second floor and if stairs are challenging, the building has a small lift.
Normal guidelines around Covid are currently in place.
My first session
In the first session, I will explain how we may work together. It will give you the opportunity to ask questions and for both of us to decide if I am the right therapist for you.
I will discuss issues such as confidentiality, and if you are happy, I will ask you to sign a counselling agreement and a data protection policy. This is in line with ethical working outlined in the BACP ethical framework.
Subsequent sessions are generally weekly, on the same day and time.
