About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced professional counsellor. I bring myself to my practice which means I work with integrity, honesty and respect. I aim to provide you with a safe and open environment, filled with support, compassion and understanding so that you are given freedom to explore whatever you feel is needed.

I have specialist experience working in the area of trauma and trauma recovery. This means that I have particular understanding of how to work with anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem and loss.

Over the course of my professional career I have completed significant training in areas such as sexual offences, attachment, relational conflict, self development and management of complex emotions.

I am also a registered therapeutic social worker with a high level of safeguarding experience and understanding of individuals who have experienced physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

Whether you are looking for support around a specific issue, or struggling with an experience in the past or present. Counselling is an opportunity for you to reconnect with yourself, to develop a greater awareness of your thoughts and feelings, make sense of things, and most importantly feel empowered to live a life of your own design.

Practice description

I am an integrative counsellor. This means I have been trained in a range of counselling techniques and approaches, allowing me to shape my practice around each clients individual needs.

I believe in working collaboratively, so together we choose the starting point and the most effective therapies, adapting and changing according to your needs within the counselling process.

I will offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space in order for us establish a partnership built on trust and authenticity.

I work face to face out of a practice in central Winchester.

My first session

Central to any 1-1 practice is the collaboration of the two involved, It is therefore very important that you feel comfortable with the counsellor you choose.

I offer a brief free of charge telephone conversation to gain an overview of what you are seeking counselling for and answer any initial questions. Within this we will establish an agreed time for an initial consultation and weekly ongoing sessions. Initial consultations are chargeable at my regular fee.

Initial consultations involve a deeper exploration of  what has brought you to counselling and a discussion of how we can work together. I am also required to gather some personal and medical information as well as talk through confidentiality and information processing as set out in my work agreement.
