About me and my therapy practice

I am a person centred counsellor and have been in practice as an online, as well as face to face, counsellor for twenty years via phone and, more recently, email WhatsApp, Skype and Zoom. Since 2014 I've also been working in the virtual world of ProReal (https://vimeo.com181759880) which is a highly effective way in which to approach whatever issue you wish to resolve.

I believe we each have the answers we seek within us. I support and help clients to discover the choices available to them. I am non-directive and offer positive unconditional regard in establishing a rewarding, effective therapeutic relationship

Practice description

A very important aspect to consider before entering into counselling is there is no quick fix! Gaining an understanding of an issue is essential, before it can be resolved, takes time.

The most important element of counselling is the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client. I hope the following will give some insight into me and the way I work which I hope will encourage you and give you the confidence to become a client. If you would like more information I would be delighted to have a free chat, either over the phone or at my place of work in Cookley, with no obligation before you make a decision.

I offer a comfortable and private space in my counselling room and the opportunity to discuss whatever issue is disturbing you in strict confidence. Through an understanding, empathy, expertise, developed over several years, and the development of a unique therapeutic relationship I assist clients resolve disturbing issues, achieve greater self-awareness, gain a greater understanding of 'why they are where they're at' or, achieve the empowerment they may be seeking to enjoy a more fulfilling life.

I am an experienced counsellor having worked in a variety contexts and witha wide variety of issues.

I am non-judgmental and offer unconditional, positive, regard to all. Person centredness is my way of being not just a way of counselling. I believe that each of us has all the answers we are seeking within our 'self' - we may just need someone who is not emotionally involved and who knows nothing about us, other than what we choose to disclose, to help discover them. I'm non-directive and encourage clients to realise and appreciate the choices available to them and to choose the ones which are in their best interest. A consequence of this is the enhancement of self-awareness, greater personal development, self-actualisation and autonomy. Consequently clients gain the ability to choose the life they wish to lead.
