Thank you for choosing to read my profile. It can be difficult to take the first step towards change, however much that change is desired, so be proud that you are starting on your journey towards self-discovery and growth. Perhaps the reason you are here is because life feels overwhelming right now and you would like some help finding your way through this new and unknown world. You might have lost a loved one and are struggling with the loss and to find purpose in life. You might simply feel that you are not living your life in the way in which you would choose and are ready to do some self-reflection in order to make some changes.

About me and my therapy practice

My aim is to help you explore your thoughts and feelings and the impact they are having on your behaviour and mood. During our time together, I would aim to help you identify patterns of behaviour and thought processes that may be affecting your relationship with yourself and with others. My approach is gentle, kind and collaborative although when appropriate, together we will challenge your beliefs, processes and narrative to help you move forward.Over the years, I have worked alongside clients with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, trauma and low self-esteem. I am an integrative therapist and draw upon a range of modalities to best suit your needs. I am trained in several theoretical disciplines including psychodynamic, person centred, and humanistic. My own journey in therapy began over 30 years ago when I experienced the depths of transformation and empowerment counselling brought me that ultimately changed the course of my life. At times, therapy can be challenging. There are no guarantees it will be the right path for you. However, if you are willing to trust and work with me, I assure you I will be fully committed to support and facilitate you on your journey, to the very best of my ability.

Practice description

I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation for you to share with me some details about your issues and outline your hopes and expectations from counselling as well as asking any questions you might have. From there, I will assess if I can help with your needs and you will get an idea if you want to try a first session, with no obligation to continue.I offer weekly short- and long-term therapy, sessions are 50 minutes.

My first session

The first session is a chance for you to tell me a little more about what has brought you to therapy and an idea of what you hope to gain from it. It’s an opportunity for you to voice any fears or reservations and ask any questions. In turn, I will ask you to share some details of your experiences, circumstances and history to date although there is no pressure to share anything before you’re comfortable doing so. The key to successful therapy is the relationship between the client and counsellor so this is purely for us both to get a sense of whether we are suited to work together.
