About me and my therapy practice

About me: I am an experienced and fully qualified UKCP accredited and BACP registered psychotherapist with experience of working with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement and difficulties in everyday relationships.

Our work can help you deal with difficult thoughts and feelings you may be going through. We can also explore any past problems and experinces that may now have resurfaced for you, working through whatever it is that troubles you safely, securely and confidentially.

I also specialise in bereavement, complicated & traumatic loss, as well as infertility & family issues. I have also worked as an addiction counsellor. I work as a facilitator for the Donor Conception Network (DCN), a charity that supports families, couples and individuals with the challenges of infertility, assisted reproduction and donor conception.

Past experience includes working at Mind in Camden and CASA Islington Alcohol Addiction Service. I currently serve as a Board Trustee at the Camden City Islington & Westminster Bereavement Service (CCIWBS).

My research dissertation was on the benefit of humour in therapy. While therapy can be no laughing matter, I believe sensitive, appropriate and playful humour can be hugely beneficial to our therapeutic work.

Practice description

My approach: We can work both short and long term, depending on what you aim to achieve. I work with whatever emotional distress you may be going through, or whatever else you need to make sense of. Together, we can talk through this in an open, sensitive and private setting. I believe a respectful, safe and authentic relationship between client and therapist is key to meaningful therapeutic work.

With you, I aim to explore and reflect on your life on your terms, in a way that means something to you. This is not simply cognitive, mental thinking. Instead my approach aims to look at how you feel in everyday life, what your relationships with other people are like and also how you feel about yourself. I aim to work with you, person to person, respecting your individuality and identity, so you feel truly listened to. With deep awareness on a felt personal level, the possibility of choice may arise.

Next steps: You’re welcome to phone or email me to ask any questions you may have and arrange an initial session. Together we can work through and explore what challenges you, working out what could be different, and how you could move on again in your life.
