About me and my therapy practice

I work with individuals and couples online and on the telephone. I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer a welcoming, safe, confidential setting in which to gain support for a range of problems, including anxiety, depression, coping with loss, separation, fear, stress, and work-related issues. Counselling or therapy can support you to make choices and offer you time to grow, gain new perspectives and make changes. It can offer a rich and transformative experience in which to develop self-awareness, enable time for reflection and re-imagine a future in creative ways you have not thought of before. I welcome working with you in a way that feels safe to express and explore your identity, cultural experiences, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity and whatever makes you unique.

Practice description

I have trained in a number of theoretical models and approaches over the years and in addition I have been influenced by meditation and the arts. This integrative way of working enables me to weave together a flexible approach, which supports each person’s individual needs and experiences. Each person is unique, with an ability to grow and heal, therefore our relationship and the way I work is unique to you. I offer short-term and long-term therapy influenced by Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural approaches, Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology. Most importantly, I work in a way that supports each person's experience. I have worked in private practice and a variety of settings over the past 30 years.

My first session

During the initial session, we will meet either on the phone, via skype, teams or zoom. I will support you to talk about yourself; rather like telling your story, or painting a picture of what is going on for you. This will enable me to hear and understand what you might like to explore or achieve from working together. You will also find out more about fees and arrangements for the times of sessions. As the sessions progress, you may find that what you first came for, is not now what you want to talk about, this is not uncommon. The time and space is yours to explore whatever comes up for you. You do not have to make a commitment at this point, I encourage you to listen to what feels right for you. For more information please link to my website www.ebbandflowcounselling.co.uk
