About me and my therapy practice
I qualified with a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling in 1999 and a Relate Diploma in Couples Counselling in 2004.I have been a BACP accredited counsellor since 2004 and have worked in my own private practice since 2008.
I have worked in colleges, for private organisations and charities as well as counselling and supervising private clients, during many years of successful practice.
I work with each person as a distinct individual and always put the client and their needs at the centre of my work. I aim to help the client examine and understand their life and current issues. I work with the client to help them towards self- empowerment so that they are able to become more self reliant and confident to make the best choices they can in their life.
My integrative approach and years of experience mean that I can access many resources to work with my client in a way that suits them best. This includes using art and music, journaling, and writing.
Practice description
I am an experienced independent practitioner. I work on a consultancy basis for several organisations but also take on work with private individuals. The latter work is usually done from my home base in Cramlington, Northumberland. I can also provide telephone counselling on request.
I am currently working by telephone and video only.
My first session
Clients are invited to attend an initial session to discuss their issues; this provides the opportunity for both parties to decide whether there is suitable basis from which further sessions can evolve. The cost of this session is £45 but there is no obligation to continue if either party wishes not to proceed further. I am happy to signpost clients to other organisations if I feel that they are in a better position to assist.

About me and my therapy practice
As a supervisor, I offer 20 years of counselling and supervision experience in a variety of settings including a successful private practice. I can work with a variety of theoretical models with an emphasis on the underlying principles of humanistic counselling.
I encourage those I supervise to step back from their practice and reflect on their therapeutic and personal responses to clients, in a calm, confidential and supportive environment. I treat everyone as individuals and respond to their own particular needs , knowledge and circumstances, in order to achieve the optimum experience for both counsellor and client.
I work with experienced, newly qualified and training counsellors and offer a reduced rate for counsellors in training.
