About me and my therapy practice

Hi! Welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm Erin, and I offer online sessions from a cozy, dedicated, confidential space in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I would describe my counselling style as a potent blend of no-nonsense compassion, kindness, empathy, and humor (laughter is the best medicine, and all that). Throughout the counselling process, I prioritize you feeling heard and in control. I am an integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I have broad experience of supporting clients over both long or short time periods. I've worked with those struggling with difficulties relating to depression, anxiety, single-event and complex trauma, stress/work-related stress, bereavement/loss, relationship issues, low self worth, life changes, loss of health/chronic illness, identity, and more.

Practice description

I'm a firm believer that we are all just humans, moving through the world in the best way we can, and sometimes we need time, support, and a listening ear, and a little light to help us along the way.  This can look very different for each individual, so I work in an fluid, non-judgmental, collaborative way that is lead by you.

My first session

Our first session will be an assessment session. These differ from usual sessions as they are exploratory: it's about you being able to tell your story, and to get a feel for working with me before diving into counselling. I'll ask some questions about your life past and present, what has brought you to counselling, and what you hope to gain from our time together.  It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about the counselling process so that you feel confident and secure moving forward.
