About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered counsellor and have training in Sexual Violence Against Women. I am also a Suicide First Aid (SFA) Associate Tutor.
I am a volunteer counsellor at Rape Crisis and also practice privately.
I work in film and media so am aware of the inherent stresses within the industry and am passionate about supporting the mental health of employees.
My theoretical approach is based upon that of Carl Rogers, founder of the Person-Centred Theory. I share his belief in the actualising tendency: the innate capacity of every individual to grow and develop. My approach is therefore a positive one, I believe we are all unique and all possess a capacity for growth. I see counselling as a journey of self-discovery and the quality of the relationship, between client and counsellor, as the main therapeutic agent.
I am non - directive and believe you know where to go and what hurts. I want to accompany you on a journey of self-discovery. My role is to get to know you and for you to develop a greater understanding of yourself in a safe, confidential and supportive environment.
