About me and my therapy practice
Conducting Skype, Zoom and Telephone appointments during this Covid crisis.
I'm a qualified BACP Registered Integrative counsellor based in Gorseinon, Swansea and Neath. I work with adults over the age of 18 and help with issues such as Anxiety, Depression, Panic, Low Self Esteem, Stress, Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma.
I believe that we are all unique, with unique experiences and reactions to these experiences. This is why I draw on a range of approaches as one size does not fit all.
Our first session will include a Consultation which serves to discover what you want to get out of counselling, and is also an opportunity for us to meet. In this session I will be addressing your safety and your day to day difficulties which are normally the most immediate concerns. I draw on certain Mindfulness and CBT techniques to find coping strategies that suit you as an individual.
Every Integrative Counsellor is different as we draw on different approaches in varying degrees. I'm a big believer in living our own authentic lives so draw on humanistic theories such as Person-Centred and Existentialism to help you become more self aware and grow.
I am Systemically trained which means that I counsel you as an individual but consider you as part of your current and past Social circles and the impacts of these. I use genograms and timelines to help you piece together your past in order to make sense of it. I also draw on the theories of Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic approaches to help you understand these impacts.
I offer sessions from £25 to £40 depending on what block you buy. (I will send you details of these when you enquire).
