About me and my therapy practice
My approach to therapy is informed by a predominantly Person Centred/Client Centred perspective, this means we will work together to help you to heal and grow. I focus on developing your capacities to self -right. Together ,we will consider what might be worrying you, I will support you in finding your own solutions to resolve, or cope with your situation. Collectively, we can discuss emotional problems and behaviours that you are struggling with whilst examining how to change your emotional reactions. We will study the appropriate coping strategies and I will support you in applying them.
I practice Short-term face-to-face work, Long-term face-to-face work, Online counselling, Telephone counselling, Time-limited Brief therapy.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor psychotherapist. This means I am trained to integrate a range of therapeutic approaches to best suit my clients’ needs. I use different tools and approaches to find the best fit for you. This could include:
- identifying and drawing on your inner resources to live a fuller, more satisfying life.
- working with you to process difficult or painful thoughts and feelings
- supporting you to discover your potential and ability to make the right choices
- exploring your past and how this affects you today
- helping you to identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviours and find ways to change them
- empower you to use new coping skills to change your negative thinking style.
My first session
It's important you are comfortable with your therapist before you make a commitment. If you would like to explore whether we could work together why not contact me to arrange an initial assessment session for approx 10-15 mins. This allows you to get a sense of what it's like to be in therapy with me and for me to decide if I am right for you.
