Availability

Weekly and fortnightly spaces currently available for both online and in person sessions.

I am generally prepared to be flexible with appointment times to accommodate your needs wherever possible. This can include having rotating appointments rather than set days and times, or moving to fortnightly or monthly sessions instead of weekly.

I work online and in person, therefore I am able to take on clients from any location, including those from outside the UK.

About me and my therapy practice

Everybody goes through difficult periods in their life from time to time. For some this can just mean a small, irritating problem that just doesn't seem to go away, and for others, it can be something much more serious that makes life seem overwhelming and utterly bleak. Whatever your issue, no matter how apparently large or small, it is my role as a therapist to see, hear, and understand, and to work alongside you to help you find a way through.

It is my firm belief that the most important part of therapy is in the relationship between therapist and client. Therefore I endeavour to provide an interaction that feels transparent, genuine, and welcoming, and that will provide you with the space you need in order to feel comfortable with opening up about your issues. The sessions will move at your pace and be suited to meet your specific needs, and I invite you to be open and expressive about how they are working for you as we go on.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor. I mainly work with humanistic methods, drawing heavily from traditional person-centred counselling as well as existential counselling, but can also apply methods from psychodynamic schools as well. I am also trained in the use of DBT techniques. I work in both short and long term

I have particular experience in working with bereavement, trauma, personality disorders (particularly borderline personality disorder), and relationship issues, and have a great deal of experience working with adolescent clients and clients from BAME backgrounds.

As I am particularly interested in working with people from low-income circumstances and people who have found it difficult to access counselling through traditional means, concessions are regularly available for my fees and I am prepared to be flexible with appointment times.

Practice description

I have worked in counselling roles in a wide variety of different settings, from community mental health, to bereavement counselling, to working with students and older people, and am able to bring this experience to bear on any issue you may feel like you are struggling with, no matter how large or small it may feel.

Everybody needs to feel like a person rather than a puzzle waiting to be solved; therefore, I put the development of a warm, genuine, transparent relationship over and above the application of any specific tools, structures, or techniques. The progress of the sessions will be guided by your needs and feelings at any given time, which we will work together to channel into genuine and lasting change.

Though my range of experience is broad, I have a particular interest in working with people who are feeling lost or stuck in life, people who are struggling with a lack of meaning or purpose, and serious mental health conditions such as borderline personality disorder or bipolar disorder.

I have a great deal of experience working with people from BAME and LGBT+ backgrounds, and strive to ensure that my approach maintains the highest possible level of cultural awareness and sensitivity at all times.

My first session

If you are interested, please get in touch at your earliest opportunity and we will arrange a short (20-30 minute) video or telephone assessment session. Here we will discuss what your needs are, as well as figuring out when we can work together and how much the sessions will cost.
