During Covid 19 I am working every week day online.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and as we are all unique individuals I adapt the therapy to suit you, rather than working in a formulaic way. I like to work in a way that is supported by evidence. I use both psychodynamic and attachment theory, as a basis for understanding, as neuroscience supports such an approach.
I respect and incorporate the Humanistic way of working. I use empathic attunement, authenticity and responsiveness in our therapeutic relationship.
I consider relationships as key in psychotherapy and in life. If you have a clearer understanding of yourself it will lead to more fulfilling relationships, including with yourself.
You may sometimes behave in ways you do not recognise nor understand. Through therapy you may discover that certain events have triggered something buried deep within you. I believe past life experiences can inform you in the here and now. I hope to work with you to uncover a greater depth of understanding of yourself. Putting words to your emotions will help you with your journey.
I aim to help you to get in touch with your emotions, to accept and trust them and thereby release your full potential. I also use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy, which is recommended for the treatment of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
I trained for five years at Regent’s University. I have a BA in Law and Psychology and worked as a litigation solicitor in the City for over 20 years. I have volunteered on the LawCare helpline for over 4 years, an independent charity founded to address the emotional and health problems experienced by members of the legal profession. I volunteer at a bereavement service where I provide bereavement counselling. I deal with boarding school issues.
