About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Chrissie and I offer therapy to children and adolescents, and sessions to parents to help them to support their children.
I've been working as a children and young people's therapist for 15 years now. I trained as a Play Therapist and after completing my training I worked in the NHS as mental health worker with children and adolescents for 6 years. For the last 5 years I have been an associate therapist at a local Adoption Support Agency, alongside having my own private practice.
I work with children of all ages, including fostered and adopted children. My work often involves working with parents to help them understand their child's behaviour and to feel more confident with how to manage their child's behaviour and emotions.
I also offer consultations to parents who are not sure whether to be concerned about their child's behaviour/emotions and/or who wish to understand their child's behaviour more fully.
Parent sessions can be by zoom, so you do not have to live close by!
My first session
I usually start an intervention by taking a full history for your child, starting from birth up to the present day. This will help us to understand more fully what might be going on for your child and helps us think about what support they might need.
This session last 90 mins.
