About me and my therapy practice

Hello - I am a compassionate, fully qualified and insured BACP registered counselling psychotherapist with 20 years experience in the field of psychology. I welcome adults with a wide range of difficulties which may stem from anxiety, depression, relationship problems, self-esteem and childhood issues - all in the strictest confidence.

I currently work with NHS referrals and have previously worked with young people in the charitable sector and older adults in long-term care. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society. I am also a member of the British Psychological Society's Media Ethics Advisory Group.

I trained for over seven years at leading universities in the field and was awarded a masters degree with Distinction in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also have a First-Class undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology. Prior to training, I was a BBC documentary maker for 20 years.

Practice description

I primarily work with adults over 18 years old. I am an integrative relational therapist which means that I draw on different theoretical models about how we relate to ourselves, to others and the world around us.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am committed to ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and supervision of my clinical practice. I also abide by the BACP's 'Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions'.

My first session

Following an initial 30 minute consultation to determine if we are a good 'fit' we would agree an initial schedule of sessions - usually 8 - 12 weeks - after which we can discuss the option of further sessions. Each session lasts 50 minutes during which time I will help you to express and explore your concerns and we will work together towards meaningful change.
