About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychodynamic counsellor with a person centred approach. I am also a Therapeutic services manager  for The Elm Foundation (previously North Derbyshire Women's Aid).

My training has exposed me to some of the raw issues that one experiences in childhood and adulthood such as bereavement, domestic violence, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, Depression, anxiety, self-harm, self-esteem and confidence issues.

If you are struggling to put your life changes into perspective then Buxton and Chesterfield Counselling can help you. Perhaps there is something in your present relationship that is holding you back? Feelings of guilt or shame can often consume our everyday lives and it helps to understand where these feelings come from.

Do you feel stuck in some way feeling helpless while life is slipping you by, leaving you frustrated because you have not got the confidence to embrace new opportunities? Bereavement such as losing a child, family member or close loved one can be painful and maybe you feel locked in your grief or feeling lost and in need of someone to share the burden. Through warmth, empathy and being genuine I will help you explore your troubles in a safe, trusting environment.

I work from my home in Buxton, Derbyshire, offering a caring, safe, confidential, relaxed environment where we can explore your difficulties. I look forward to hearing from you and perhaps meeting you for a first free session.
