About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Olga & I have a passionate interest in health & wellbeing leading me to attain qualifications & experience as both a counsellor in 2007 & a doctor in 2013.
I am BACP registered offering private therapy for a wide range of challenges.
As a therapist I adopt a person-centred, empathic & non-judgemental approach. This provides the opportunity to build a therapeutic relationship to explore your personal challenges in a safe, confidential & dedicated space, with the aim of achieving your goals & living a healthier & happier life.
In relation to therapy, as a NHS doctor I have gained specialist mental health experience in general adult & old age psychiatry, & also an in-patient eating disorders unit.
Whilst I enjoy & value my medical work, I am continually inspired by the power of therapy, therefore, I enthusiastically choose to practice as a therapist alongside my work as a doctor.
I believe being a counsellor & doctor enables me to provide a compelling, effective & unique way of exploring a wide range of challenges within therapy - e.g. exploring & gaining understanding of the link between the ‘mind & body’ (or physical symptoms & emotional processes) & the associated symptoms that can arise such as pain, panic attacks, IBS, CFS & fibromyalgia etc.
I can also call on my medical knowledge within therapy to help gain a further understanding of wide range of health issues such as chronic illness, depression & anxiety etc.
I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation, or to find out more about the therapy I offer, please text/email me.
Practice description
COVID-19 - online & telephone sessions only
Due to the challenges we are facing during this pandemic I am currently only offering therapy online (Skype/zoom) or via telephone.
I am experienced in offering online and telephone counselling and have found it to be highly effective.
I do hope to and look forward to returning to face-to-face sessions when safe and appropriate to do so.
My first session
There are many reasons why we may reach a point or a particular stage in life where we choose to explore therapy.
Therapy is a collaborative endeavour where the first session will help to ‘break the ice’, as well as gain an initial insight into any issues that have lead to seeking therapy.
Our first session together will provide the chance to explore the process of therapy in a safe and dedicated space, whilst sharing ideas and expectations . It is a chance to ask any questions you may have and hopefully reassure any concerns that may present.
I will share the ways in which I can work with you within our sessions, with the aim of you achieving therapeutic change and personal development so you can be a happier and healthier, more fulfilled version of you.
Towards the end of the session we can share if we feel it would be beneficial to commence regular therapy sessions together and make arrangements for future sessions if appropriate.
