About me and my therapy practice

I work flexibly in the way that best suits the client needs. This means we may look for 'quick wins' to enable you to cope better and, at the other end of the scale, dig deep for root causes.

I don't insist on weekly or fortnightly sessions but rather structure in a way to best allow client change / growth.

Practice description

Thera are a few things about my practice that differ slightly from other counsellors.

Firstly, I share notes with my clients.

Secondly, expect to be challenged (in a caring way)

Thirdly, I work best with clients who like to work on themselves between sessions - usually based on agreed tasks given at the end of sessions.

Fourthly, I use a client sheet which will grow as time progresses as more TOOLS and notes are added. The client sheet becomes a 'TOOL FOR LIFE'

Fifthly, I use humour extensively.

My first session

The first session is where we assess each other. Can we work together productively? The main output from the assessment is to enable us both to make this decision.

If, for any reason we cannot work together, then I will endeavour to find a suitable counsellor / counselling style for you.

The first session is the only session where I would use a laptop. This is to capture / talk about baseline information including your Basic Details and Personality Profile.
