About me and my therapy practice
I know that taking the first step when needing help or support can be daunting..... counselling can be the first step to beginning your healing.
As a counsellor, my approach to therapy is to offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your emotions and issues that are causing you discomfort in order for you to heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor combining Person Centred Therapy, CBT and Psychodynamic Therapy. Depending on your needs I will be there to offer support and tailor the therapy to you. You are at the centre of the therapy, this is your journey and therefore we work together on an approach that feels right for you.
My experience has largely been in the charitable sector working with Adults and Children with a range of presenting issues such as, Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement, Self-harm, Suicidal Thoughts, Confidence, Life Changes, Stress, Family Issues, Abuse and Anger.

I have also worked as a school counsellor working with 11-18 year olds, during which time I recognised just how important early intervention and fostering a healthy approach to mental health with our young people is.
Sometimes in life we reach points when we say to ourselves "I don't want to feel this way anymore", sometimes we instinctively know that we want a change in how we are feeling or just want to understand ourselves better but just don't know where or how to start. If you have reached this point then counselling can provide that space for you to make sense of your feelings and issues to start living the life that you want.
We will typically arrange weekly sessions, each session lasting 50 mins. There is no commitment to a fixed amount of sessions. Initially we will discuss how many sessions you feel you would like and when the course of treatment is nearing the end we will review how you are progressing and whether you would happy to work to our agreed end or whether you feel you would like to continue with the treatment.
During sessions we can explore area's that you want to work on in a safe and confidential space. Sometimes in life we don't know what we want to work on, we just know that "something's not right" or we feel "low" or "down", through the counselling sessions we can work together to address these feelings, giving you the chance to process, understand and manage these in order for you to live the life you want.

During this conversation we can also arrange an initial session in either of my locations- Liverpool or Heswall (Wirral).
