I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist incorporating humanistic and psychodynamic theories. Working in this way the therapy offered may be adapted to each client’s individual needs, allowing it to be a unique and personal experience.
My approach is warm and empathic, giving you the opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns in a safe, non-judgemental space.
I have particular experience in loss and bereavement. This includes working with disenfranchised grief (a loss which is not openly acknowledged or recognised by family, friends or society) which may lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness. You may have suffered the loss of an unrecognised or secret relationship, or a beloved pet. During the pandemic you may not have been able to access the more usual support available, leaving you with feelings that your loss of a loved one has not been fully recognised.
Counselling is an opportunity to take a step back, find a different perspective and explore areas for potential change to bring about a more fulfilled way of living.
