About me and my therapy practice

I am a Person-Centered Therapist, which means I am part of facilitating your unique journey towards a more wholesome and connected way of being with yourself and with the world around you.

I work in a non-directive way, respecting and trusting your capacity to find the places to be explored, acknowledged or held. You are the central focus of your work, and I believe only when we can accept our position in center stage in each our lives respectively, can we live in such a way which feels comfortable.

The space we will create together is one of trust, acceptance, and authenticity; this can take time, and can feel a bit like a roller coaster. My commitment is that I will be alongside you for the ride, the ups, the downs, the 'who the hell am I anyways' and provide an environment which is safe to feel unsafe within, with the hope that by having unwavering faith in you, you will find your power and integrate it within yourself.

I want to include something about how I want to meet you not only as an individual in the therapy room, but also as a person in society. I believe that we are all impacted by the wider world; the meaning we attach to how we feel in the world, how we feel with people, how we feel about ourselves all creates part of the tension you may be experiencing. Some of this feels totally out of our individual control, and although that is true, it doesn't mean there isn't some freedom to be found. Together we can explore these societal restrictions, injustices, imposed values etc. and find a place of understanding toward you in the world.

I will learn to be beside you, as you will learn to be with yourself, with the knowledge that this companionship can enable great change.

Practice description

I work at New Road Psychotherapy in both Brighton and Hove.

The practice in Brighton is very central and is situated from the first floor upward in a town house. The room I tend to work from is at the top of the building and is spacious and light. It has lots of art materials available and easy to access.

The practice in Hove is on The Drive, which is a 10 min walk from the station and is very close to church road. The rooms I practice from are lights and airy and situated on the second floor.

If you have any mobility issues we can see each other on a lower floor or online.

All the rooms are homey with lovely art work and plants.

Online session take place on zoom.
