About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Sophie and I am an experienced qualified humanistic counsellor based in Cranleigh Surrey. Throughout life we all experience times of uncertainty, but now more than ever it might feel hard to navigate the challenges thrown at you in this uncertain world. Whatever your concerns, I can offer you a safe, respectful space in which to voice and explore difficult thoughts and emotions without fear of judgement. Whether you have a specific concern such as anxiety, depression, panic, grief, or relationship issues, or a more general feeling of dissatisfaction, discontentment or unease, you do not have to struggle alone. Talking with a counsellor can offer restorative insight & perspective and help bring about positive change.
I work with both adults and young people with a range of personal and professional issues. I have developed a particular interest in working with individuals and groups experiencing anxiety, stress, loss, grief and bereavement and have extensively supported those affected by cancer and terminal illness.
Alongside my core training, I have also undertaken continued professional development including but not limited to Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Online and Telephone Counselling, Attachment Theory, Facilitating and Working with Groups, Counselling Young People, Anger Management and I also have experience in delivering training and workshops in stress management and resilience.
I offer both short or long-term therapy based on your needs. My practice is within easy reach of Cranleigh, with a bus stop just outside if you need to use public transport. My counselling room offers a comfy and private space, where you can be assured confidentiality to be free to speak about whatever concerns you. I offer a space where we can build an open and trusting relationship, in which I will listen empathically and support you so can explore both past and present issues that may be causing you distress. Working collaboratively with you, I draw upon appropriate theories and approaches to help you understand yourself better and work towards making any changes or goals you have identified. With the current Covid19 social distancing regulations I am conducting sessions online using Zoom, by telephone, or if suitable Walk and Talk Therapy sessions. Choosing a counsellor can be a confusing and daunting process. To help you know if counselling is right for you, and to see if you feel we are the right fit to work together, I offer a FREE 30 MINUTE consultation without further obligation. Equally I am happy to answer any questions you may have by phone or email. Please do get in touch for an informal chat
