About me and my therapy practice
What matters to you, is what matters to me.
Seeing through the eyes of the client, to witness and understand their story, I support clients to understand themselves and feel better. I hold the hope until clients can reconnect to their own hope, resources and well-being. I bring my whole self to my counselling practice, to stay with the client and am passionate about supporting clients to engage in the process in whatever ways are meaningful to them, to honour their true self and relationships. I am an experienced practitioner of 20 years working from a systemic and psychodynamic perspective. I continue my personal and professional development, to offer best practice to clients and work by the BACP Ethical Guidelines for Good Practice. I am a qualified Relationship Counsellor, Individual Counsellor and Family Counsellor.
I feel privileged to work with clients. I enjoy my professional vocation very much and am dedicated to each client's unfolding story.
MBACP (Accredited), Post Graduate Diploma in Couple Therapy, Systemic Family Training Certificate. BSc Degree in Psychology.
My uniqueness as a counsellor is my dedication to clients, my passion for my vocation. A robust, trustworthy therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of my practice and gives the client an opportunity to understand themselves, feel better, develop emotional resilience, explore ways of doing things differently; to build self-compassion, to focus on liking and listening to themselves and finding ways to be more present in their relationships. Curiosity, neutrality and appropriate humour, are also qualities and tools to walk alongside clients.
Though issues presented may be similar, how they are manifest and the meanings that emerge, is unique and personal to each client. From the voices of clients, counselling is often experienced in unique individual ways, as affirming, safe, compassionate, challenging, thought-provoking, painful, helpful, inspiring, hard, stretching, life-changing, healing, enjoyable and liberating, at a personal level; whose ripple affect creates far-reaching ongoing possibilities for understanding, acceptance and growth.
